Kudzu bugs are strongly seasonal pests that become most active during the fall when they begin searching for warm places to overwinter. They are known for gathering in large numbers on buildings, particularly on sunlit surfaces. 

Homeowners often notice them covering exterior walls, windows, and entry points in significant numbers over a short period of time. As temperatures drop, they may begin entering through small gaps and openings, leading to indoor sightings. Once inside, they typically remain inactive but can reappear during warmer days, creating the impression of a recurring infestation. Their ability to cluster and return seasonally makes them especially noticeable year after year. 

While they do not damage structures or pose health risks, they can release an unpleasant odor when disturbed and become a nuisance due to their numbers. Preventative measures—such as sealing entry points before seasonal changes—are the most effective way to reduce indoor activity.
